The top 10 considerations
  • Preparation is vital: think about the changes you want to make, remembering to consider what other building works may be required and what contractors you may need.
  • Space: having enough space to work in is critical, we can  help you choose the right equipment, and where to place it to allow yourself and your assistant plenty of room to move freely around it. 
  • Patient entry: we’ll take into consideration the entry point  to the room and whether the patient can get in and out easily.  
  • Showcasing your technology: have your lasers or CADCAM equipment out on display.
  • Privacy: consider a specific consultation room,  especially good for anxious patients. 
  • Engaging the customer: improve patient understanding by showcasing your CEREC® milling units. 
  • Waiting room: it’s recommended that people in the waiting room cannot see directly into the treatment room. 
  • OPG room: locate your OPG in a separate dedicated room - this will need lead lining protection if there are partition walls.
  • Multiple surgeries: you may want to think about a central suction system to provide suction to all surgeries with security. 
  • Decontamination: it’s best practice to have separate clean and dirty rooms, if space allows.

When planning your decontamination room, we can optimise space to create a distinctive workflow with set down, wash and rinse sink, washer/disinfector, autoclaves, inspection and cooling/packing areas - starting from the dirty area and ending in the clean area.
